These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the OBD Master Pro | Car Scanner mobile application (the "App") and the website obdmasterpro.com, provided by OBD Master Pro ("we", "us" or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. The App
The App is a vehicle diagnostic tool that communicates with your vehicle through a third-party OBD2 adapter (such as an ELM327 class adapter) that you supply. Features and compatibility depend on your vehicle, its control modules, its software and your adapter. We do not guarantee that every feature will work with every vehicle or adapter.
2. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and the Google Play Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, redistribute or resell the App, except where such restrictions are prohibited by law.
3. Subscriptions and purchases
- The App is free to download. Some features may require an in-app purchase or subscription, billed through Google Play.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in Google Play (Profile > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions).
- Prices are shown in the App and in Google Play before you buy and may vary by country. Any free trial converts into a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.
- Refunds are handled according to Google Play's refund policies and applicable law.
4. Safe and responsible use
- Do not operate the App while driving. Set it up while parked, or have a passenger use it. Always follow traffic laws.
- Performance tests must only be run where it is legal and safe, such as on a closed track. Never perform them on public roads.
- Clearing codes does not repair a fault. Some warnings indicate safety-critical issues; have your vehicle inspected by a qualified technician.
- ECU coding, adaptations, service resets, actuator tests and registrations change how your vehicle behaves. Make a coding backup first, keep the battery charged, and proceed only if you understand the changes. Incorrect coding can cause malfunctions, warning lights or loss of functions.
- Modifying certain vehicle settings may affect your warranty, emissions compliance or legal roadworthiness in your country. You are responsible for complying with applicable laws.
5. Disclaimer
The App and all diagnostic information are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Code descriptions, health scores, battery analysis and other results are informational and may be incomplete or inaccurate. They are not a substitute for inspection by a qualified mechanic.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OBD Master Pro will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any damage to vehicles, adapters, devices or data, loss of use, or personal injury arising from your use of the App, including use of coding, resets, tests or third-party adapters. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
7. Third-party products
OBD2 adapters, vehicles, Google Play and other third-party services are not controlled by us, and their use is subject to their own terms. Vehicle brand names are used only to describe compatibility and do not imply endorsement.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it; cancel any active subscription in Google Play to stop future charges.
10. Changes
We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows the latest version. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
